with my very first mother’s day coming up next week, i thought i’d post a photo of an orchid which i think may be my favorite flower. i dream of having a house full of them, but the reality is they’d never make it. i seem to kill all house plants. i’ve killed bonsai trees, bamboo, cacti and palm trees – and those are supposed to be the easy ones. i hear they’re a lot of work, very picky and delicate. maybe when i’ve retired and have a green house on my large rooftop condo balcony i’ll learn to take care of hundreds of orchids. by the time i’m no longer working and all the children are out of the house i should have the time for them.
