alright, as much as i was annoyed by the today show for dedicating the ENTIRE show to king of pop this morning, it really is kind of a big deal that he’s passed. and for the first few mintues of the show i did get a little emotional.

michael jackson’s unexpected death at a young age right before his sold out comback tour is a tragedy no doubt. and i am concerned for his three kids who lost their “only” parent so suddenly.
last night nick asked me what my favorite mj memory is. my first response was when i listened to heal the world constantly to learn the words that i later performed in an oddesy of the mind skit. ha! he of course made a smart comment about the young boys he kept at the neverland ranch. i think the thriller video is really my favorite memory.
i can’t say i was ever a huge michael fan, but i do recognize his impact on the music and music video industries. there’s no denying he is a ledgend who had some sweet dance moves. i’d like to remember him in his glory days and not so much for the bizarre looking and troubled man had become. i grew up listening to michael on the oldies station with my dad, and my grandpa had a jackson five record my cousin and i used to sing along to. those are actually the songs of his i know best. but of course, who doesn’t know beat it or thriller or billy jean? the one glove, high pitched “he-HE!”, and moon walk will live on forever.
