// February 24th, 2010 // No Comments » // News/Entertainment

normally i’d put up a photo for a wednesday post, but i haven’t taken a picture since valentines day.  SO… a youtube clip it is!

this commercial was on during the olympics last weekend and nick and i laughed out loud the entire time.  hilarious if you ask me!

i have never seen an evian commerical on tv i’m pretty sure, but i wish this one would run here.  skating babies.  i can’t get enough of it.  everytime i watch it i see another adorable baby expression and it melts my heart. once you’ve seen this one, be sure to watch “the making of“, “breakdancing baby” and “moon walk baby” (those are links).  enjoy!

passing of a ledgend

alright, as much as i was annoyed by the today show for dedicating the ENTIRE show to king of pop this morning, it really is kind of a big deal that he’s passed.  and for the first few mintues of the show i did get a little emotional.

michael jackson’s unexpected death at a young age right before his sold out comback tour is a tragedy no doubt.  and i am concerned for his three kids who lost their “only” parent so suddenly.

last night nick asked me what my favorite mj memory is.  my first response was when i listened to heal the world constantly to learn the words that i later performed in an oddesy of the mind skit. ha! he of course made a smart comment about the young boys he kept at the neverland ranch. i think the thriller video is really my favorite memory.

i can’t say i was ever a huge michael fan, but i do recognize his impact on the music and music video industries.  there’s no denying he is a ledgend who had some sweet dance moves.  i’d like to remember him in his glory days and not so much for the bizarre looking and troubled man had become.  i grew up listening to michael on the oldies station with my dad, and my grandpa had a jackson five record my cousin and i used to sing along to.  those are actually the songs of his i know best.  but of course, who doesn’t know beat it or thriller or billy jean? the one glove, high pitched “he-HE!”, and moon walk will live on forever.

Those are some fluffy pants

For our first news/travel entry, this is a good one.

True story:  Sony Dong, a passenger traveling into LAX yesterday, is now doing some time after airport security noticed bird poop on his shoes.  No, he’s not in jail for having dirty shoes, he was smuggling song birds – in his pants!  And this wasn’t the first time this has happened.  In February an Austrailian man was caught with pigeons in his trousers.

I don’t know about you, but that HAD to have been uncomfortable for both Mr. Dong and his feathered friends.  Traveling from Vietnam with six birds attached to each leg.  Amazingly all twelve birds survived.
